WHAT IS THE PEER AND CONSUMER FORUM?
NUAA is organising a Peers and Consumers Forum on September 5-6 at the NSW Teachers federation in Surry Hills. The forum aims to celebrate the contribution of consumer and peer workers – either paid or voluntary – in New South Wales. Consumers and peers participate in a range of settings — AOD treatment services, needle and syringe programs, consumer groups — all are welcome to attend. You can find out more details (including about sponsoring the forum) HERE and fill out a form to apply to sponsor the forum HERE.
For the first time ever, NUAA is holding a special conference designed specifically for people with lived experience of alcohol and drug use and treatment. If you are a person who uses alcohol and drugs or has a history of using alcohol and drugs, this forum is for you.
At the forum, you will have the opportunity to share your experience as a consumer and peer, hear other people’s stories, attend workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge, or bask in the company of your community.
We look forward to seeing you there.
